Bank Holiday Madness May 2027
The event is a seven hour time challenge organised by Saturn Too Limited and held at The Last Hop, Thames Edge Court in Staines. It is licensed by the Trail Running Association and run under UK Athletics rules. The format lets runners choose how many laps to complete within the allotted time; members receive the lowest entry price, guaranteed entry and a mini-me medal pin, and runners from UK Athletics affiliated clubs receive a small discount.
Distances available include:
- Minimum 3 km.
- Full lap 7 km (4.37 miles) may change to a 3.28 mile loop.
- Half marathon 3 laps.
- Marathon 6 laps.
- Ultra 7 or more laps; 50 km option available.
The course follows a stretch of the River Thames and is fully signed. About 60% is on a well-made path or tarmac, with the remainder on grass and light trail that can become muddy; road shoes are suitable year-round, with trail shoes optional for extra grip. The regular route may be adjusted pending health and safety reviews and landowner approval.
Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a medal; additional distance pins are given for half-marathon and longer achievements. A goody bag is provided to finishers, including a vegan option. An aid and drinks table is positioned at the start/finish of each lap with savoury, sweet, fruit, cheese and vegan items. Toilets are available at the venue; there are no separate showers. Parking is available at Bridge Street Car Park, Staines. Bag storage is provided but it is not secure and valuables should not be left unattended. Headphones are permitted and the course uses public footpaths so runners should be considerate of other users. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
