The Horrorwood Halloween Run : Staines upon Thames
The Horrorwood Halloween Run is a Trail Running Association licensed event held under UK Athletics rules at The Last Hop, Thames Edge Court, Clarence Street, Staines, TW18 4SU. The event is organised as a 7 hour Time Challenge that allows runners to choose how many laps they complete. The minimum recorded distance to be an official finisher is 3 km. A full lap is listed as 7 km (4.37 miles) but may be changed to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. A 3k turn point and 5k turn point are provided within the lap.
The course follows a stretch of the River Thames and is fully signed. Surfaces are mainly well made paths and tarmac with a very short grass section, so road shoes are suitable. Completing at least 3 km earns a Halloween themed medal; distance pins are awarded for half-marathon and greater distances, including Half-Marathon, Mega-Half, Marathon, 50 km and Ultra pins.
Finishers receive a goody bag, with a vegan goody bag option. An aid table and drinks table are available at the start/finish of each lap offering savoury, sweet, fruit, cheese and vegan items. Toilets are available at the venue; there are no separate changing rooms or showers. Parking is available at Bridge Street Car Park, Staines TW18 4TP. Headphones are allowed. A non-secure bag drop is provided at the start/finish. Final race instructions are sent by email and number pick up takes place on the day at registration.
