Midweek Chasing Numbers Jan 2027
Saturn Running stages a 7 hour Time Challenge at The Last Hop in Staines. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules. Membership offers lower entry prices, guaranteed entry and a mini-me medal pin; members of UK Athletics affiliated clubs receive a £2 discount.
This event gives participants control over distance. The minimum recorded distance for a finisher is 3 km. A full lap is listed as 7 km (4.37 miles) but the loop may change to a 3.28 mile circuit depending on course conditions. The lap includes 3 km and 5 km turn points to support age-related distance rules. Typical lap counts:
- 3 km minimum finisher distance
- 5 km turn point within lap
- Half marathon equals 3 laps
- Marathon equals 6 laps
- Ultra is 7 laps or more
- 50 km option available
The course runs along a stretch of the River Thames and is fully signed. About 60% is on a well-made path or tarmac and the remainder is grass and light trail that can become muddy. Road shoes are suitable year round; trail shoes may be preferred for grip. The regular course may be adjusted for health and safety or landowner approval.
Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a medal and those who reach half marathon distance or more receive distance pins on their medal ribbon. There is a goody bag with a vegan option, and an aid and drinks table at the start and finish of each lap. Venue toilets are available but there are no separate changing rooms or showers. Parking is available at Bridge Street Car Park in Staines. Number pick up is on the day at race registration and final instructions are sent by email in the week before the event. A bag drop is provided but it is not secure. Headphones are allowed and participants should be considerate of other users on public footpaths.
