About the race
The Remembrance Run in Surrey is a commemorative running event organised by Saturn Running. The event includes a two minute silence as part of the remembrance activities; two minutes will be removed from official times to allow for this.
The event is run as a seven hour Time Challenge so participants may control their own distance. The minimum distance is 3 km. A full lap is listed as 7 km (4.37 miles) but may change to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. The course includes 3 km and 5 km turn points to allow younger runners to comply with UK Athletics distance rules.
Distances available:
- 3 km minimum.
- 5 km.
- 10 km.
- Half marathon (3 laps).
- Marathon (6 laps).
- 50 km.
- Ultra distances.
- Seven hour Time Challenge format.
The course runs along a stretch of the River Thames and is fully signed. About 60% of the route is on a well made path or tarmac; the remainder is grass and light trail that can become muddy. Road shoes are suitable year round; trail shoes may help on softer sections.
Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a medal. Distance pins are available for half marathon and longer distances and are attached to the medal ribbon. Finishers receive a goody bag, with a vegan option. Aid and drinks tables are provided at the start/finish of each lap and include savoury, sweet, fruit, cheese, and vegan items.
The Last Hop provides toilets but no separate changing rooms or showers; downstairs toilets can be used for changing. Parking is available at Bridge Street Car Park in Staines TW18 4TP. Number pick up takes place on the day at race registration. There is an unsecured bag drop area, headphones are allowed, and participants should be considerate of other public footpath users.
