Saturday Sizzler - Carrollton
Saturday Sizzler on August 15, 2026 is a cross country season opener hosted by SoleRoots Racing and presented by Carrollton Kiwanis in memory of a local community member. The event is held in partnership with the University of West Georgia Athletics and Cross Country team at 1500 Lovvorn Road, Carrollton, GA 30116.
The event program includes races for middle school and high school teams and a Community Open 3K for families and other runners. Distances and race types include:
- Middle school girls 3K
- Middle school boys 3K
- High school 2 mile
- Community Open 3K (competitive open race)
Registration for the Community Open 3K opens May 20, 2026. An early bird rate applies through August 1, 2026; a standard rate applies after that date. For families of school runners, $10 of each Community 3K registration goes back to the athlete’s school to help cover team dues. Team and school entry options and fees are provided for school teams and unattached athletes, and spectator admission for ages 12 and up is charged with proceeds going to Carrollton Kiwanis Charities.
Awards include medals for top finishers in middle and high school races, top team recognitions, overall and age group awards for the open race, and special recognition for parents or coaches who win the Beat Your Kid challenge. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
