Sardine Festival Trail Run 2026
The Sardine Festival Trail Run is held at Emerald Vale Brewery in Chintsa East, Eastern Cape. Routes run through working farmland and natural bush with flowing single track, gentle climbs and sweeping ocean views across the countryside.
Distances offered include:
- 5km: A fun social route for runners, walkers and families
- 10km: An intermediate route with jeep track and single track sections
- 16km: A longer route with climbs for experienced trail runners
All finishers receive sustainably hand crafted medals. Entry fees are R100 for 5km, R200 for 10km and R250 for 16km. Children under 10 may enter the 5km for free when accompanied by an adult. Online entries close 2 July 2026 and late entries are available on race day at registration; cash and card payments are accepted.
Routes are clearly marked and managed. Water tables are provided: one on the 5km and two on the 10km and 16km. Walkers are welcome on the 5km and 10km courses. The venue is spectator friendly and has toilets and restaurant facilities on site. After the run, participants and visitors can enjoy brewed drinks, food and music at the brewery, and there is a lucky draw with prizes from event sponsors.
