About the race
This social runner and walker event takes place at Centreville Baptist Church, 870 Murray Drive, Centreville, NS. Participants choose a timed option of one, two or three hours and cover as much distance as they wish within that time.
The course is asphalt and road, organized as a 5 km loop with about 19 meters of gain and loss per loop. The loop starts on Hwy 359 from the church, heads south on the asphalt path, continues through Lauren Drive and the Madison subdivision, uses Saxon Street and Sherman Belcher Road, then returns to Hwy 359 to the start finish area. The course will be marked with directional signs and participants must check for traffic when crossing streets. Runners and walkers face traffic and treat the event as a training run or walk, not a timed race. Each person is expected to keep track of their own time and distance.
Aid is provided as two dispensing bottles, one with water and one with mixed blue Gatorade. This is a cupless event so participants are asked to bring a carry bottle or leave a cup at the start finish. A first aid kit is located at the start finish.
A reception follows at the church in the main reception area with pizza delivered from Domino s, a selection of coffee pods, bottled water, pop and various cheesecakes. Pizza choices collected at registration include Canadian, Cheese and Pepperoni, Vegetarian and Gluten free. Santa will make a guest appearance and hand out a small gift to participants and invite attendees to share a New Year resolution.
The field is limited to the first 35 entries and there is an age minimum of 14. Entry cost is 28.00 plus a Race Roster processing fee of 5.46. Registrations are non refundable; registered participants receive a full deferral to the planned St Patrick s Day fun run on March 14, 2027. Any net proceeds after expenses will be donated to Centreville Baptist Church. Full washrooms and parking are available at the church.
