The Sandy Rogers and Scotty Richardson Memorial Scholarship 5K Run is a 3rd annual Homecoming 5K held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, in Graniteville, SC. The race follows a new course on the University of South Carolina Aiken campus and is a chip-timed 3.1-mile (5K) run. Proceeds benefit the Sandy Rogers and Scotty Richardson Memorial Scholarship, which honors two Aiken police officers killed in the line of duty in 2011 and 2012. The scholarship is awarded by USC Aiken’s sociology program, with preference given to students pursuing criminal justice who demonstrate financial need. Each 5K registrant receives a t-shirt if registered by February 4, 2026, and finalists receive medals.
Logistics
Event entry options include general public registration ($30), a discounted student category for USC Aiken students ($10), a category for first responders, veterans, and USC Aiken faculty and staff ($30), and a children 12 and under category ($10). Student registration and some pricing deadlines fall on January 21, 2026; the children’s registration deadline is February 18, 2026. Packet pickup is available the day before the race at the Starbucks inside the Student Activity Center on the USC Aiken campus (volunteers on site from 3:00 to 6:30 PM) and on race morning near the Convocation Center (volunteers on site from 6:30 to 7:50 AM).
