About the race
The Sandstone Sixer is a six hour timed running event held at Sandstone Ranch Open Space in Larkspur, Colorado. Runners complete repeated 8 mile loops with 765 feet of climbing per loop. Elevation on the course ranges from 6,533 to 6,843 feet. The loop is runnable and rolling, with a turnaround that passes back through the start and finish at mile 3.45.
This layout places an aid station roughly every four miles and keeps runners close to crew or personal gear. The race is cupless; participants must bring their own drink container. Loops must be completed to count toward totals. Awards and incentives are tied to loop totals.
Registered participants receive a custom hat and raffle tickets.
