Sandhills Trail Race Series
The Sandhills Trail Race Series is a multi-distance trail event held February 20–21, 2027 at Sesquicentennial State Park, 9564 Two Notch Rd, Columbia, SC 29223. The course runs through pine forest and sandy ridges and passes campsite areas. Camping and day use are available at the park. Note that organizers have indicated potential updates to course, location, or time for 2027.
Distance options include:
- 7.5-Mile Fun Loop - one lap of singletrack with lake views
- 25K (2 laps) - two laps of the loop
- 50K (4 laps) - four laps of the loop
- 30-Hour Ultra - time-based event allowing multiple laps
Included features listed by the organizer are chip timing with split tracking, live results, a fully stocked aid station at the start/finish every 7.5 miles, complimentary race photos, finisher medals for all finishers, custom race bibs, event giveaways, and belt buckles for 100-mile finishers. The event is cupless; participants should bring personal hydration gear. Aid station food options may include pickles, cookies, candy, chips, fig newtons, pretzels, water, Coke, and ginger ale. Limited crew and aid support is noted overnight for 30-hour runners.
Practical details provided: packet pickup and gear storage under Picnic Shelter #2, parking in the open field adjacent to the start/finish accessed behind the ranger station, a $5 special use permit fee applied during registration, dogs allowed, headphones allowed, race day registration available, and a 32 hour completion limit for all distances.
