About the race
Zurich Maratón Donostia San Sebastián celebrates its 47th edition on 22 November 2026 in Donostia San Sebastián. The event is organised by a promoter committee formed by the Federacion Atletica Guipuzcoana (F.A.G.) and UTE Donosti Eventos RPM Racing Pruebas Deportivas. It includes two certified road races under RFEA and World Athletics rules.
The event comprises the following distances:
- 42.195 km marathon, certified and on a fully urban, flat course at sea level.
- 10.00 km 10K, scheduled the same day as the marathon.
Participation limits are set at 7,000 runners for the marathon and 4,500 for the 10K. Age requirements: 18 years or older for the marathon, 16 years or older for the 10K; minors must submit a parental authorisation and identification documents. Bibs include an integrated timing chip that must be worn visibly on the front. Bib collection is organised in the Expo Sports at Kursaal on the Friday and Saturday before the race; bibs are not issued on race day.
The marathon has an official maximum time of 5 hours and the 10K a maximum of 1 hour 10 minutes, with intermediate cutoffs. The race provides pacers for a range of target times and allows paid personal pacers under conditions set by the organisation. The event also serves as the Gipuzkoa championship and includes cash prizes and record bonuses. Official course records are listed for men and women.
