Event details
The 15th Annual San Jacinto Texas Independence Fun Run takes place on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 1 Monument Circle, La Porte, TX 77571. The event is held on the San Jacinto Battleground and offers in-person and virtual options. The certified 10K and 5K courses will be chip-timed. Top three male and female finishers in each age category will be recognized after the race. Age categories are: 19 & under, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, 70+.

Registration, packets, and participation
Advance registration rates apply before January 31, 2026: $30 for the 10K, $25 for 5K walk/run, and $20 for the 1K Kids. From February 1 to race day rates increase: $35 for the 10K, $30 for 5K walk/run, and $25 for the 1K Kids. Virtual Run/Walk pricing is listed separately. Participants may choose packet pick-up or packet shipping; standard shipping is included when selected. Packets will be mailed during the week before March 7 and a bib will be available at packet pick-up if needed.
Access and rules
Main roads that form part of the route will be closed on race morning; arriving guests may be directed to designated parking outside the race zone and will need to walk to the event area. The 5K and 10K are open to all ages, with children ages 2 and under free to accompany a family member. Strollers and walkers are welcome but should start at the back of the corral. The 1K Kids Run is limited to children 12 and under; one parent or guardian may escort a child and strollers are permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
