Event Details
The 15th annual San Jacinto Texas Independence Fun Run takes place on Saturday, March 7, 2026, in La Porte, Texas. The event venue is the San Jacinto Museum and Battlefield, located at 1 Monument Circle.
Distances and Participation
The event offers five participation options.
- A 10K run
- A 5K run
- A 5K walk
- A 1K kids run for participants 12 and under
- A virtual run/walk option
The 10K and 5K courses are certified and will be chip-timed. Awards will recognize the top three male and female finishers across several age categories. All ages are welcome in the 5K and 10K events; children 2 and under can accompany a family member for free. Strollers and walkers are permitted but are asked to start at the back.
Logistics and Registration
Packet pick-up is scheduled for the two days prior to the event at the San Jacinto Museum and Battlefield. A packet shipping option is also available for the virtual event. For on-site participants, please note that main roads into the battleground will close at 7:20 a.m. for safety, as they form part of the race route.
Registration fees vary by distance and date. Advance registration discounts are available before January 31, 2026. Prices increase from February 1 through race day.
