Event overview
The San Jacinto Texas Independence Fun Run takes place on March 7, 2026, at the San Jacinto Battleground in La Porte, TX (1 Monument Circle, 77571). The event is the 15th annual edition and is held on the historic grounds where Texas won its independence. The certified courses for the 10K and 5K will be chip-timed. Top three male and female finishers in each age category will be recognized after the race. Age categories are: 19 & under, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, and 70+.

Registration, packet pick-up and participation
Advance and race-week registration fees vary by event; a virtual option includes packet shipping. The 1K Kids Run is limited to children 12 and under. All ages may enter the 5K and 10K; children age 2 and under may accompany a family member free. Strollers and walkers are allowed but must start near the back of the field. Packet pick-up is located inside the Monument at the San Jacinto Museum and Battlefield; in-person pick-up is available in the days before the event and on race day. Main roads into the battleground will close prior to the races, and arriving vehicles may be directed to designated parking outside the race zone.
