Event Overview
The 15th Annual San Jacinto Texas Independence Fun Run takes place on Saturday, March 7, 2026, in La Porte, Texas. The event is held at the San Jacinto Museum and Battlefield, located at 1 Monument Circle. The courses cover historic grounds where Texas won its independence.
Distances and Format
Participants can choose from several events:
- A 10K Run, which is a certified, chip-timed course.
- A 5K Run, which is a certified, chip-timed course.
- A 5K Walk.
- A 1K Kids Run for children aged 12 and under.
- A Virtual Run/Walk option.
Top three male and female finishers in each age category will be recognized after the race.
Logistics and Fees
Packet pickup is available at the San Jacinto Museum and Battlefield on the Thursday and Friday before the event. Event-day packet pickup is also available, but participants are advised to arrive early as main roads into the battleground close at 7:20 a.m.
Registration fees vary by date and event. Advance registration (before January 31, 2026) costs $30 for the 10K, $25 for the 5K Run/Walk, and $20 for the 1K Kids Run. Prices increase from February 1 to race day. The virtual option costs $40 before January 31, 2026, and $45 after February 1, 2026.
