San Diego SCADaddle for Research 5K
This event centers on a timed 5K run/walk held on the south side of Crown Point Park on Mission Bay in San Diego. The course follows the bay-side walkway and on-site parking is available at no charge. Awards are given to the overall male and female winners; second and third overall places receive recognition. Age-group awards are presented to the top three males and females in these groups: 11 and under, 12-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and up.
A separate reunion and dinner is scheduled at the Marina Village Conference Center. That evening includes early packet pickup, a meet-and-greet, dinner with an included adult meal and kids' meal, and a presentation of recent SCAD research by a cardiologist and researcher from the Mayo Clinic SCAD Research Program. The reunion features a cash-only bar, vendors, and a SCAD store.
A combined option pairs the reunion, dinner, and the 5K. Participants who register by August 15, 2026, are guaranteed this year’s event t-shirt. Post-race amenities include custom-made acai bowls, face painting, and other vendor offerings. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
