San Diego SCADaddle for Research 5K
The event is a timed 5K run and walk held on the south side of Crown Point Park on Mission Bay in San Diego. The course follows the bay side walkway and free parking is available at the park. The standard registration fee for the 5K is $45.00. Register by August 15, 2026 to guarantee this year's t shirt.
Awards are given to the overall male and female winners. Medals or recognition are provided for second and third place overall and for the top three males and females in these age groups: 11 and under, 12 to 15, 16 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69 and 70 and up.
Additional event features include refreshments with custom made to order acai bowls by Alohana Acai Bowls, face painting and vendors. There is also a separate Social Reunion and Dinner held at the Marina Village Conference Center and a bundle option that combines the reunion and the 5K. A cardiologist and researcher from the Mayo Clinic SCAD Research Program will present research findings during the reunion event. Fundraising is supported with an incentive: participants who raise at least $1,000 receive a refund of the $45 registration fee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
