San Diego SCADaddle for Research 5K
The event is a timed 5K run and walk on the south side of Crown Point Park on Mission Bay in San Diego. The course follows the bay side walkway near 3700 Corona Oriente Road. Free parking is available.
The event raises funds for research into spontaneous coronary artery dissection, a cause of heart attack that most often affects younger adults and can recur. Awards will be given to the overall male and female winners, with medals or recognition for second and third overall, and for the top three males and females in age groups: 11 and under, 12 to 15, 16 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and up.
Additional event features include refreshments with custom acai bowls, face painting, and vendor booths. A social reunion and dinner are scheduled separately; that evening includes early packet pickup, a presentation of recent research findings, and a dinner option. Registrations completed by August 15, 2026 are guaranteed a t shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
