Samaritans Way Ultra
The Samaritans Way Ultra is a trail running event held at Guisborough Rugby Club. Organized in partnership with Teesside Samaritans, the event takes place during National Volunteer Week to support local charitable efforts. Participants traverse the official Samaritans Way, a route established by the Teesside Samaritans. All profits generated from the race are donated directly to the Teesside Samaritans branch.
The event offers two main course distances:
- 40 km Marathon Run
- 60 km Ultra Marathon Run
Participants have the option to complete the distances individually or as part of a relay team for the 60 km event. The routes for the 2026 edition have been updated from previous years. The event is permitted by the Association of Running Clubs (ARC 26/0031).
Included in the entry is a finishers medal, an event T-shirt, and food and drink at the finish line. The course is fully marshalled, and checkpoints are stocked with refreshments. Medical cover is provided on-site throughout the event. Runners may also participate in a Predictor League, where participants submit a predicted finish time for a chance to win based on the accuracy of their estimate. Access to the event is subject to age restrictions based on the specific distance chosen. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
