About the race
The Salty Five Fun Run is a community 5 km event along the beach at Big Bay, Cape Town, held on Sunday 1 November 2026. The route is described as flat and sandy and the event starts and finishes at Eden on the Bay in Bloubergstrand.
The event accepts participants of all ages and allows prams. Dogs, bicycles and boards are not permitted on the beach. Entry is limited to 199 places. Participants are responsible for their own safety and parents are responsible for their children. The organizer recommends bringing a hat, sunscreen and water.
A race number and a Salty Five sticker are included with each ticket. Ticket holders receive one entry into a lucky draw with prizes such as wine for adults, beach sunglasses and homemade cookies; winners are drawn at the end of the run and unclaimed prizes can be collected in Bloubergstrand within a week.
