Salomon Wascally Wabbit 2027
This trail race takes place at the Fundy Trail Snowmobile Club near 84 Lafarge Lane, Folly Lake, NS, Canada. Two timed course options are offered with significant elevation gain.
- 31k with 1040 m elevation gain
- 62k with 2080 m elevation gain
The 31k loop largely follows the original route except for a deviation near the 6.5 km mark that follows an ATV trail downhill, then up a new climb that becomes singletrack and rejoins the original route near 10 km. Aid stations are located at the start/finish area and at about 18 km at Gerry's cabin. Aid stations will provide water, Coke, Tailwind and standard aid station supplies. There will be no single-use cups at aid stations; participants must carry their own drinking vessel.
Cut-off times are enforced at specified locations: 17.5 km (Gerry's cabin) 3h30m, 31 km for 62k loop two entry 4h45m, and 48.5 km (Gerry's cabin #2) 7h15m. Missing certain cut-offs requires a 1.5 km hike out for pickup by a support driver.
Camping is permitted in the club parking and on the property. Mandatory gear must be carried for the entire race, including a charged cell phone, a running jacket, a basic first aid kit, a buff or toque, at least 1 L of water capacity, and food for the loop. Random gear checks will be conducted and missing mandatory gear may result in disqualification.
Registration notes: 31k entry CA$56.26 and 62k entry CA$88.64; both include WW swag, camping, draw prizes, and insurance. Volunteer roles are available at no charge and include swag, draw prize eligibility, and a free future race entry. No refunds. Spots may be sold to another person.
