Event
The Salomon Wascally Wabbit takes place on May 9, 2026 at 84 Lafarge Lane, Folly Lake, Nova Scotia. The event is hosted at the Fundy Trail Snowmobile Club and includes camping on the club property or in the parking lot. Registration categories and listed fees are:
- 31k - CA$56.26
- 62k - CA$88.64
No refunds are offered. Entrants may sell their spot. Deferrals are only permitted in exchange for a volunteer shift. Dogs are not allowed on the course.
Course and logistics
Distances offered:
- 31k - 1040 m+ elevation
- 62k - 2080 m+ elevation
The 31k loop mostly follows the original route but deviates around the 6.5 km mark to follow an ATV trail downhill and then a new climb that becomes singletrack, rejoining the original course near the 10 km mark. Aid stations: one approximately 18 km into the loop (Gerry's cabin) and an aid station at the start/finish. Aid station supplies include water, Coke, Tailwind and standard aid-station food. There are no cups at aid stations; participants must bring their own drinking vessel.
Cut-off points (race time) are specified at KM 17.5, KM 31, and KM 48.5. Runners who miss the KM 17.5 or KM 48.5 cut-offs must hike about 1.5 km to be picked up by their driver.
Mandatory gear and volunteering
Mandatory gear carried for the entire race includes a charged cell phone, a running jacket, a basic first aid kit, a buff or toque, at least 1 L of water capacity, and food for the loop. Random gear checks will be performed; missing mandatory gear results in disqualification.
