About the race
Salmagundi Trail Race takes place on November 7, 2026 near the Pedernales River in the Texas Hill Country. The course runs from the park at 23610 Hamilton Pool Rd, Dripping Springs, TX 78620 and includes overlooks of the river. Organizers describe the route as a salmagundi of double track, single track, and jeep trail with rolling hills and wide trails; they note it can serve as a first trail race or a fast trail run.
Distances offered
- 5K : 180' elevation gain; no aid stations
- 10K : 270' elevation gain
- 13.1mi : 700' elevation gain
- 26.2mi : 1400' elevation gain (two laps of the half)
- 50K : 1670' elevation gain (two half laps plus the 10K)
Parking and park use require a $5 per person day use fee in cash; the organizer covers participant park entry. Camping is not allowed at the park. On-course amenities include port-o-toilets and park restrooms. Ranch rules require pets to be on leash.
Awards include overall top three finishers male and female, masters (50+) first place male and female, 5K and ruck first place overall male and female. Custom finisher awards are provided and all finishers receive an award. A ruck division has mandatory weight requirements, pre-race and finish weigh-ins, and a no trekking poles rule. Post-race features live music and a local food truck. The event benefits Austin Sunshine Camps. Volunteer positions are available with discounts on future races.
