Salmagundi Trail Race
Salmagundi Trail Race is scheduled for November 7, 2026, at Hamilton Pool Preserve near the Pedernales River in the Texas Hill Country outside Austin Texas. The event is part of the Texas Trail Championship and supports Austin Sunshine Camps.
The course includes a mix of double track single track and jeep trail with rolling hills and generally wide trails. Amenities at the park include port-o-toilets and park restrooms. Day use is five dollars per person cash only; organizers cover participant park entry. Tent camping is not allowed. Ranch rules require pets be on leash.
Offered distances:
- 5K - 180' gain. No aid stations.
- 10K - 270' gain.
- 13.1mi - 700' gain.
- 26.2mi (2x 13.1) - 1400' gain.
- 50K (2x 13.1 plus 10K) - 1670' gain.
Awards include overall top three finishers male and female masters 50 plus first place male and female and 5K first place overall male and female. All finishers receive a custom finisher award produced by Southern Forge and Mill. The event features live music and a local food truck after the race.
A ruck division is available with mandatory weigh in before the start and at the finish. Required carried weight is 20 pounds for participants under 150 pounds and 30 pounds for those over 150 pounds. Weight must be in a ruck or vest cannot be consumable or wearable and trekking poles are not allowed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
