Sail Away 5K - Buffalo, NY
The Sail Away 5K takes place on June 15, 2026 in Buffalo, NY. The event offers two participation options: a combined boat cruise to the start with the 5K run along the Outer Harbor bike path, or a 5K run only at the start/finish at Charlie's Boat Yard.
For the boat cruise option participants check in at Buffalo Boat Tours to pick up race gear and board a short cruise to Charlie's Boat Yard. The start and finish are a short walk from the dock and the course follows the bike path along Fuhrmann Blvd. After the run participants return to the Buffalo Boat Tours dock on the sunset cruise where the awards ceremony is held.
For the run only option participants pick up their bib and event items at the start/finish at Charlie's Boat Yard and complete the same 5K course.

Online registration remains open until the start of the race. Packet pickup is at Buffalo Boat Tours for boat riders and at the start/finish for run only participants. Fees listed through race day are: Boat Ride & 5K Run Combo $45 (or until sold out) and 5K Run Only $35 (all ages).
Trophies will be presented to the overall first place male and female. The top three male and female finishers in each age group will be recognized. Age groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and older.
Organizers reserve the right to reschedule the event or convert it to a virtual 5K for reasons such as foul weather or public safety; there will be no refunds. Professional timing is provided using Jaguar Electronic RFID timing by Race Management Solutions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
