Sabino Canyon Sunset Run - 7.4 Mile & 2 Mile Fun Run/Walk
The event takes place on April 10, 2027 at Sabino Canyon (5700 N Sabino Canyon Rd, Tucson, AZ) in the Coronado National Forest. It offers two distances and has participation caps for each distance; registrations are online only and will close at noon on 4/10/27 or when a distance sells out. No transfers, refunds, or deferrals are allowed.
Distances
- 7.4 mile out-and-back on the paved tram road.
- 2 mile out-and-back on the paved tram road.
The 7.4 mile course climbs for the first 3.7 miles on the main tram road and returns the same way. Aid stations with water are located at miles 1.7, 3.4, and 5.1 for the 7.4 mile course. The 2 mile course goes one mile into the canyon and returns; there will be no aid station on the 2 mile course. Runners in the 7.4 mile event must maintain a sub-19 minute per mile pace and meet cutoff times at the turnaround and later aid station or they will be removed from the course for safety reasons.
Entries include event shirts for all registrants; 7.4 mile finishers receive a finisher medal and age-group prizes are awarded for the 7.4 mile race. Finish-line food and beverages, including pizza and Eegees, are provided. The event benefits Friends of Sabino Canyon. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
