Rye 10 & 5 Mile

The Rye 10 & 5 Mile event is a road race held in East Sussex. The course takes participants through quiet country lanes surrounding the village of Peasmarsh, located approximately four miles from Rye. The route is characterized by hilly terrain and scenic rural views. This event is organized in conjunction with the Peasmarsh Memorial Hall Committee to raise funds for the local Village Hall and is included as a race in the Sussex Grand Prix 2026.

Participants can choose between two race distances:

  • 10 Mile
  • 5 Mile

The event starts and finishes at Jempsons Supermarket on Main Street in Peasmarsh. For those traveling by car, there is ample free parking available on-site. Runners traveling by train can use the nearest station in Rye, though a taxi or bicycle is required for the final four miles as there is no Sunday bus service.

All finishers receive a bespoke medal and access to free race photographs. Trophies and prizes are awarded to the leading runners. The event provides a friendly atmosphere with local support along the course. Participants must be at least 15 years old for the 5 mile race and 17 years old for the 10 mile race.
