RVA Sprint Triathlon
The RVA Sprint Triathlon is a pool sprint triathlon hosted at the Rockville Center in Rockville, VA. The event includes a classic sprint triathlon, a beginner-only triathlon for first-time triathletes, and a youth Splash & Dash for ages 15 and under. Duathlon and aquabike options are offered for both the sprint and beginner formats. Event proceeds fund the Live Red Foundation’s free fitness programs that teach life skills to children in low-opportunity communities.
Participants race on a combination of pool swim, rural rolling bike roads, and an out-and-back run course. The event uses a seeded start in which the top seeded women begin several minutes ahead of the top seeded men to create a head-to-head finish. The first person across the finish line earns a complimentary entry to a Live Red Foundation race.
