Event Details
The Rutland Spring Half Marathon is scheduled for 12 April 2026. It is a half marathon covering 13.1 miles (21 kilometers). The event starts and finishes in Barnsdale at Rutland Water and includes the Hambleton Peninsula.
Course
The route circles Rutland Water and is described as undulating with mixed terrain. It has 804 feet of ascent and descent. The majority of the course is on tarmac, but a section from miles 5 to 9 follows a track that is looser under foot, though not an off-road trail. Feed stations are positioned at miles 3, 6.5, and 10.
Participation
Categories are available for both runners and walkers. Runners must be at least 17 years old on the event day, and walkers must be at least 15. Entry fees are £34 for runners, £32 for UKA members, and £30 for walkers. The fee includes a finisher medal, chip timing, instant results, comprehensive medical support, free event photos, and free parking.
Logistics
Parking is free at Whitwell car park, located approximately 1 kilometer from the start line. Medical support is provided by paramedics, all-terrain ambulances, and a mobile medical centre. Advance registration is required, with no on-the-day entries available.
Rules and Charity
In-ear or over-ear headphones are not permitted, but bone-conducting headphones are allowed. Dogs and running buggies are not allowed in the run event but are welcome for walkers.
