RutFest
RutFest is the sixth annual Richmond Ultra Trail Festival, held at Catamount Outdoor Family Center in Williston, Vermont. The event is a community-focused 36 hour trail festival that invites participants to run or walk local trail loops repeatedly over the weekend. The two primary loops run on alternate sides of the property and are about 3 and 4 miles long.
Registered participants receive event updates and information and are asked to sign up for a one hour volunteer shift at the main aid station and to donate a snack to that aid station. Runners check in at the main aid station before starting laps and are free to come and go throughout the weekend for safety and tracking.
Entry uses a donation based model with suggested amounts for the 36 hour event and optional add-on donations to support partner organizations. All profits from the event are split 50/50 between Catamount Outdoor Family Center and Migrant Justice.
Catamount Outdoor Family Center manages the Catamount Community Forest, providing year-round outdoor recreation on over 400 acres with extensive trail networks. Migrant Justice is a Vermont-based, immigrant farmworker led organization that advocates for farmworker rights and runs campaigns such as Milk with Dignity.
