RutFest
RutFest is the sixth annual Richmond Ultra Trail Festival held at Catamount Outdoor Family Center in Williston, VT, on a weekend devoted to running and hiking local trails. The site address is 592 Governor Chittenden Road.
The event is organized as a 36-hour continuous event that uses two trail loops run on repeat. The loops alternate on the north and south sides of Catamount and are approximately:
- 3 miles north loop
- 4 miles south loop
Participants check in at the main aid station and may run laps whenever they choose. Runners are free to come and go during the event, and volunteers at the aid station track departures for safety. Registered participants receive event updates and information by email.
Entry is donation based; the organizer provides suggested donation amounts and offers add-on donation options. If a donation is not possible, the organizer will provide a free voucher. All participants are asked to sign up for a one-hour volunteer shift at the aid station and to donate a snack for that station.
Finishers have the option to purchase commemorative buckles after completing their distances. Recorded all-time distances at the event include cumulative totals reaching up to 390 miles. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
