Running with the Dogs
Running with the Dogs is a community event in Kilgore, Texas, that raises funds for the Kilgore Independent School District Education Foundation. The event takes place at the Dudley Road entrance of the Creekside Trail and includes multiple participation options and family activities.
The event program includes:
- 5K race, fun run and walk that starts and ends at the Dudley Road entrance.
- 1K kids race for ages roughly 3 through 5th grade held near the parking area so parents can watch safely.
A non-running option called Sleep in Supporter provides a swag bag and t-shirt without participating in a race. Packet and swag pickup is scheduled for Friday, October 31 at MDT Fit, 1610 N US 259 (across from Patterson Kilgore and next to Mazzio's), or pickup can be done on race morning.
Prizes are awarded for first through third overall male and female finishers and for winners of the kids race. Funds raised support the Education Foundation, which provides financial support for district-wide programs and activities to enhance student experiences.
Pets are not allowed at the event. The event is organized with separate options for children, adults, and non-racing supporters and includes on-site activities and awards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
