Running Scared 5K & Monster Mile - Charlotte
The event takes place on October 31, 2026 in the South Park area of Charlotte at MOTION Fitness, 2101 Rexford Rd #50w. The program includes an in-person 5K, a Monster Mile, and a Virtual 5K option.
Participants are encouraged to wear costumes; costumes are optional. Family-oriented activities listed include kids face painting, games, an expo with exhibitors and sponsor giveaways, food trucks, beer, and music at the start and finish areas. Packet pick up is scheduled before race day at MOTION Fitness.
The 5K is chip timed with ChronoTrack timing and disposable timing tags distributed at packet pick up. The Monster Mile is not chip timed; a running clock will be used. Finisher medals are guaranteed for the 5K only; the Monster Mile will have a mix of medals. T-shirts are provided to registrants who sign up before October 10; shirts are unisex short sleeve and are allocated by registered size while supplies last. Awards for the 5K include top three males and females overall and first place in listed age groups. Divisions include overall, masters, and standard age brackets.
Registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable. A 15 minute per mile pace limit applies to the 5K per CMPD requirements; participants walking slower may be asked to finish on sidewalks. A medical tent will be located at the finish line. In case of dangerous conditions the organizer may alter or cancel portions of the event and no refunds will be issued.
