Running Scared 5K - Charlotte
Running Scared is a Halloween themed event in Charlotte that includes an in person 5K and a virtual 5K. The in person event is based at MOTION Fitness, 2101 Rexford Rd #50w, Charlotte, NC.
The event encourages costumes and family participation and lists activities such as kids face painting, games, a costume contest, food trucks, beer, music, and on site entertainment at the start and finish areas. An expo features exhibitors and sponsor giveaways.
Participants who register by the stated shirt deadline are guaranteed a unisex short sleeve event shirt in a chosen design; later registrants receive a regular event shirt while inventory lasts. All in person 5K finishers receive medals. Timing is handled with Chronotrack systems in partnership with Start 2 Finish and disposable timing tags are provided at packet pick up.
Divisions are provided by age and include overall and masters categories. Awards are planned for top three males and females overall and first place in each age group; unclaimed awards are not shipped and are to be claimed at the awards ceremony. The event enforces a 15 minute per mile pace limit per CMPD and may require slower participants to finish on sidewalks. A red medical tent will be available at the finish line.
