11th Annual Running of the Bulldogs Fun Run
The Running of the Bulldogs Fun Run takes place at McKinney North High School in McKinney, Texas. This event marks its 11th year and serves as a fundraiser for the local high school Cross Country and Track & Field teams. The course leads participants through the Timber Creek neighborhood, featuring a route with rolling hills. The race starts on the high school campus and concludes with the final 300 meters on the school track.
The event offers two main distances:
- 1 mile fun run
- 5K race
Participants in the 1 mile distance receive finisher ribbons, while those completing the 5K receive custom medals. Trophies are awarded to the top male and female finishers in each age group for both genders. Additionally, the overall top male and female runners receive a pair of sunglasses and a gift card to a local running store.
On-site activities include bounce houses, live music, and face painting. Attendees can also browse local artisans or visit food and coffee trucks. Registration for the 5K includes a premium option which provides a specific pair of running sunglasses.
