Running for the Rescues

Running for the Rescues is an athletic event held at Claremont Beach in Long Beach, California. The event features multiple distance options on an out and back course along the beach path. This path remains open to the public during the event, and participants are required to stay on the right side of the path, which is designated for pedestrians.

Available distances include:

  • 5k
  • 10k
  • 10 Miler
  • Half Marathon

The courses are designed using specific loops. The 5k consists of one lap of the 5k route, while the 10k involves two laps. The 10 Miler uses two laps of a 5-mile route. For the Half Marathon, participants complete the 5-mile route twice followed by the 5k route once. The course is clearly marked with chalk, runner turn signs, and flags.

On-course support includes a fully stocked water station. A finish line aid station provides water, electrolytes, gels, and fruit snacks. Medical support is available through crew members trained in CPR and first aid kits located at each station. All finishers receive a race medal, and first-place medals are awarded to the overall fastest male and female in each category. A gear check service is available at the registration tent for participants who bring their own bags.

Early bib pick-up is available the Saturday before the event at a local sporting goods store. On the day of the event, bib pick-up and registration take place near the start line. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
