Running Events Devon - Train-ing Challenge 2026
Running Events Devon presents the Train-ing Challenge on 29 August 2026 at a new venue in Bridestowe. The course runs along an old disused train line and is described as scenic, out and back, and a mix of off-road and paved surfaces with undulating terrain.
The event is an eight hour timed challenge. It uses a TUGG (Turn Up Get Going) system with a flexible start and a fixed completion cut off. Each lap measures 5.3 km; participants may complete between one and fourteen laps within the permitted time. Finishers are recorded for whatever number of laps they complete and are eligible to collect a medal. If the event reaches capacity, later entrants receive a bespoke medal chosen from those available on the day.
Entries are limited to a maximum of 70 participants and entries close on 27 August 2026. Minimum age is 18 years. Entry categories and fees listed by the organiser include affiliated and unattached options, and reduced-price options without a medal or extras.
The organiser notes nearby accommodation at the Fox & Hounds, which offers rooms, a bunkhouse and camping, and on-site food. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
