Train-ing Challenge 2026
Running Events Devon stages the Train-ing Challenge on Saturday 29 August 2026 at a new venue near Bridestowe. The event uses a TUGG system, Turn Up Get Going, which allows participants to begin any time during the event window and then complete as many laps as they can within the eight hour timed period. The organiser describes the course as an out-and-back scenic route on an old disused train line.
Each lap measures 5.3 km. The surface is a mix of off-road and paved sections and the route is undulating. Participants may walk or run; finishing after any number of laps within the timed period is recorded as a finisher and a medal is available. If the event reaches capacity, later entrants receive a bespoke medal chosen from those on site.
Practical details include a maximum of 70 entrants, a minimum age of 18 years, and an entry closing date of 27 August 2026. Entry categories and fees are listed as affiliated £32, unattached £34, affiliated no perks £21, and unattached no perks £23. The organiser suggests local accommodation at the Fox & Hounds, which offers rooms, a bunkhouse and camping. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
