Running Events Devon - Steam Challenge 2026
Running Events Devon stages the Steam Challenge on Sunday 30 August 2026 at a new venue in Bridestowe, Station Road, EX20 4HF ///clots.insolvent.inclined. The event uses an out and back route on an old disused train line. Each lap measures 5.3 km.
The format is an eight hour timed event, described as undulating and a mix of off road and paved surfaces. The organiser operates a Turn Up Get Going system that allows participants to begin during the event's registration window and complete as many laps as they can within the permitted time. Completion of at least one lap within the permitted time qualifies a participant as a finisher and enables collection of the event medal.
Entry is limited to 70 participants. Entries close on 27 August 2026 and the minimum age is 18 years. The posted entry categories are affiliated and unattached, with options that exclude medals or goodies at lower fees. If the event reaches capacity, later entrants receive a bespoke medal selected from those available on the day.
