Running Events Devon - Steam Challenge 2026
Running Events Devon stages the Steam Challenge on Sunday 30 August 2026 at a new venue on Station Road, Bridestowe, EX20 4HF. The course follows a scenic, out-and-back route on an old disused train line and is described as undulating with both off‑road and paved sections. Each lap measures 5.3 km.
The event is run as an 8 hour timed event using the TUGG system (Turn Up Get Going). Participants may arrive during the organiser's entry window and complete as many laps as they can within the permitted time; anyone who completes their final lap within that time is recorded as a finisher and may collect a medal. Entrants commonly complete between one and fourteen laps. The field is limited to 70 participants and the minimum age is 18 years.
Entry categories and fees listed by the organiser are: affiliated £32, unattached £34, affiliated no perks £21, and unattached no perks £23. Entries close on 27 August 2026 or when capacity is reached; late entrants may receive a bespoke medal choice if the event is full.
