Running Against ALS
Running Against ALS is a multi-day charity running event held from June 14 to June 30, 2026, with the main in-person races scheduled at Three Creeks Metro Park in southeast Columbus (Groveport, OH 43125). This is the event's third annual edition.
Race options include in-person and virtual formats. Distances and formats listed by the organizer:
- 5K Run/Walk (3.1 miles)
- 15K Run/Walk (9.3 miles)
- 15K Run/Walk - RELAY (team of three; each member runs 3.1 miles)
- Virtual 5K
- Virtual 15K
The event was originally established to benefit a Columbus police officer diagnosed with ALS and now continues in that spirit to support people with ALS. Organizers state that all proceeds will be donated to ALS United Ohio’s grant program. ALS United Ohio provides no-cost services for people with ALS in Ohio, including support groups, durable medical equipment loans, hands-free home programs, one-on-one case management, and grants to help cover costs related to an ALS diagnosis.
Additional event details referenced by the organizer include packet pickup, parking, course maps, awards, safety information, and a medal series that links yearly medals into a single super medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
