About the race
The Runner's Edge Long Island Women's 5 kilometers is scheduled for July 10, 2027 in South Farmingdale and uses Farmingdale High School Track as the start and finish location. The course is USATF sanctioned and certified, follows tree-lined streets through Farmingdale, finishes on the high school track, and includes two water stations along the route.
Registration is not yet open and will open prior to the event date. Early bib pickup is offered on Friday, 7/10 at Runner's Edge in Farmingdale (242 Main St.) and day-of bib pickup is available on the track infield; personalized bibs are provided for entrants who register at least three weeks in advance. Live online, email, and text results are provided, along with free finish line photos and same-day video.
Event amenities include a quality race shirt, a finisher medal, Cosmos Ice Cream, live results, and a raffle run by Runner's Edge with multiple prize levels. Raffle prizes listed include a grand prize of three pairs of shoes, individual shoe prizes, gift cards, and starter mini swag bags; winners must be present for the raffle drawings.
A portion of net proceeds will support Girls on the Run Long Island. Awards include Runner's Edge gift card prizes for top overall places, a wheelchair prize, masters and senior masters prizes, a memorial plaque for the fastest GLIRC member, and medals in five-year age groups from 14 & under through 80+.
