About the race
Runner's Edge Long Island Women's 5K is a USATF-sanctioned road event held in South Farmingdale, New York, with the course certified as 5 kilometers (3.107 miles). The route runs through tree-lined streets of Farmingdale and starts and finishes at Farmingdale High School, with the finish on the track. The course includes two water stations and is recorded as a USATF Certified Course.
Event amenities include a top quality shirt, finisher medal, Cosmos Ice Cream, live/text/email results, free finish line photos, and personalized bibs for registrations completed at least three weeks in advance. The organizer runs a Runner’s Edge Cares About EveryRun raffle; entrants must be present to win. Raffle prizes listed include a grand prize of three pairs of shoes, multiple pairs of shoes for other winners, Runner’s Edge gift cards, and starter mini swag bags.
Awards for top finishers include Runner’s Edge gift cards for overall and category winners with specified amounts for the top three overall and category winners by wheelchair, masters, and senior masters. Medals are awarded in five-year age groups from 14 and under through 80 plus. A portion of net proceeds will support Girls on the Run Long Island. Early bib pickup is offered at Runner’s Edge in Farmingdale and day-of pickup is on the track infield at Farmingdale High School.
