Runner's Edge Long Island Women's 5K Run/Walk
The event is a USATF-sanctioned road race held in South Farmingdale that starts and finishes at Farmingdale High School, with the finish on the track. The course covers 5 kilometers (3.107 miles) through tree-lined streets and includes two water stations. The course is USATF certified.
Amenities listed for participants include a top quality shirt, a finisher medal, Cosmos ice cream, free finish line photos, and live online, text, and email results. Personalized bibs are available for those who register at least three weeks in advance. Early bib pickup is available the day before the event at Runner's Edge in Farmingdale, and day-of bib pickup is handled on the track infield.
Awards include Runner’s Edge gift card prizes for top overall finishers and category winners, a wheelchair prize, masters and senior masters prizes, and the Paula Wunderlich Memorial Award for the fastest GLIRC member. Medals are awarded in five-year age groups from 14 and under through 80 plus. A raffle called Runner’s Edge Cares About EveryRun offers multiple prizes including shoes and gift cards; winners must be present to claim raffle prizes.
