Runaway Pumpkin 10K and 5K, Laconia NH : October 24, 2026
The Runaway Pumpkin is a community fundraising event at Smith Track, Opechee Park, 879 North Main Street, Laconia, New Hampshire. Proceeds benefit the WOW Trail and the Greater Lakes Region Children’s Auction.
The event includes these distances:
- 10 km course that circles Lake Opechee and uses the WOW Trail.
- 5 km out and back course with views of Lake Opechee.
- Kids Fun Run on the track, no charge.
Course notes: dogs and cats are not allowed on the courses for safety. Strollers are permitted and are asked to line up at the back of the pack. Chip timing is provided by Millenium Running and results are published online. Cash prizes are offered for the top finishers and for course records.
Awards: trophies or awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top three male and female finishers in age categories. Age categories for the 10K are under 19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, 70–79, and 80 plus. Age categories for the 5K are under 12, 13–19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, 70–79, and 80 plus. Awards must be claimed at the awards tent and will not be mailed.
Participant information: early bib pick up is available Friday 4:30–6:00 PM at the Opechee Park building, 915 North Main Street. Race day bib pick up and registration are available at the Opechee Park building. Parking is available at Laconia Middle School, 150 McGrath Street, and Pleasant Street School, 350 Pleasant Street. Register by October 10 to receive an event shirt for adult and youth registrations; kids registrations do not include a shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
