Event overview
Gone Loco is a trail endurance event on February 8, 2026, at the Eureka Trail in Athens, Tennessee. The live event is limited to 150 participants. Distances offered include:
- 33 Miler (55k)
- 11 Miler
- 11 Mile Ruck
The 55k is a qualifying distance for the Cherokee Ultra and the course is certified as a marathon course (TN25001MS). There will be a livestream on YouTube with race coverage and on-course tracking.
Course, logistics and rules
The route follows the former railroad bed of the Eureka Trail, a fine-mesh gravel surface that is described as flat and runnable and passes through woodlands, rural areas, and the community of Mashburn toward Englewood. Aid will be provided from two staffed aid stations: one at the start/finish and one at the turnaround point in Englewood.
A new ruck division is offered for the 11-mile event. Required minimum pack weights are: men 30 lb dry, women 15 lb dry, boys under 15 20 lb, girls under 15 10 lb. All ruck entrants must weigh in 30 minutes to 1 hour before the start and use weight plates or clearly stamped plates; no weigh-in means no finisher patch.
Pacers are allowed on the 33-miler after the first lap. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall male and female finishers. Refunds are not available. The race has a 6 pm cutoff, which gives the 33-miler a 10-hour time limit. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
