Event details
Gone Loco takes place on February 8, 2026, on the Eureka Trail in Athens, Tennessee. The event offers the following distances:
- 33 Miler (55k)
- 11 Miler
- 11 Mile Ruck
The live race field is limited to 150 participants. The course is certified as a marathon course (TN25001MS). A livestream of the event will be available on YouTube. Packet pickup is available the morning of the race and the evening before at the start of the Eureka Trail. Prizes are awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers, with additional awards for top finishers in the live event.
Course and logistics
The route follows the Eureka Trail, a rails-to-trails conversion. The surface is fine mesh gravel and is described as flat and runnable. The trail follows a former railroad bed and runs southeast through woodlands, rural landscapes, and the community of Mashburn, ending near the outskirts of Englewood. Two fully stocked aid stations will be located at the start/finish and at the turnaround in Englewood; occasional additional water tables have been used in past years. Pacers are allowed on the 33-mile race after the first lap; pacers may use aid station food and drink and should be checked in. The 33-mile race has a 10-hour time limit to comply with the city permit.
Ruck division and rules
An 11-mile ruck division is offered with required minimum pack weights: men 30 lb dry, women 15 lb dry, boys under 15 - 20 lb, girls under 15 - 10 lb. All ruck entrants must weigh in before the event; no weigh-in means no finisher patch. Weights must be in clearly stamped plates or identifiable weighted vests; removal or reduction of weight during the event is not authorized. Finishing ruck participants receive a finisher patch.
