Run With the Goats - Kennewick, WA
Run With the Goats is the eighth annual 50K held on single-track trails in Reata Canyon. The course is run as seven laps of about 4.5 miles each, totaling roughly 31 miles, and the full route includes 4,280 feet of climbing. The event takes place on private property under an easement; participants are asked to be respectful of landowners and other trail users, including horses.
There are three entry divisions: Beers, Lights, and Sobers. Beers must drink a 16 oz beer before each lap; Lights must drink a 12 oz beer before each lap; Sobers must drink 12 oz of a fizzy non-alcoholic beverage before each lap and supply their own drinks. Only entrants who complete all seven laps and consume the required beverage before each lap receive an official finish; all other entrants are recorded as DNF. Beers and Lights must have a ride home arranged; entrants in those divisions receive beer and a custom pint glass as part of their entry fee. Sobers receive a custom pint glass but bring their own non-alcoholic fizzy drinks.
The event includes porta-potties, a fire pit, and a potluck where attendees bring food to share. If needed for bad weather, a wall tent with a fire pit will be available. The race field is capped at 50 entrants; a waitlist opens after the cap is reached and waitlist invitations must be accepted within 24 hours.
