The Run with the Docs 5k & 1 Miler is held at Virtua Voorhees Hospital in Voorhees, New Jersey. The event offers two distances: a 5k run and a 1 Mile fun run or walk.
Event Details
Packet pickup for bibs and t-shirts will be organized, with specific dates to be announced. Registrations completed on race day or online after May 25 may receive t-shirts after the event, starting the week of June 15. Canine participants receive a bandana.
Prizes are awarded in several categories. These include first overall male and female finishers, largest team, top fundraising team, and the top three men and women in each of eight age groups.
Beneficiary
The event benefits the Virtua Perinatal Bereavement and Palliative Care Program. This program provides support and services to families experiencing pregnancy or infant loss. Funds raised help support initiatives like financial assistance for burial costs, educational resources on grief, cooling beds for families, a biennial conference for healthcare workers, and the creation of memorial plaques.
Practical Information
Registration fees are $25 for the 5k and $20 for the 1 Mile event. Race-day registration is accepted, but payment must be made with cash or check only. The event proceeds rain or shine, unless unsafe conditions such as lightning arise. In such cases, the organizers reserve the right to reschedule or cancel. The event has a no-refunds policy.
