Run with the Docs 5k & 1 Miler
The Run with the Docs event takes place at the Virtua Voorhees Hospital in Voorhees, New Jersey. This athletic gathering offers two distinct distances for participants:
- 5 km run
- 1 mile fun run or walk
Participants can register for the events online or on the day of the race, though race-day registration is limited to cash or check payments only. The organizers provide a packet pickup for t-shirts and bibs, with the dates to be announced. Canine participants are welcome to join the event and will receive a specialized bandana.
A variety of awards are presented following the events. Prizes are given to the first overall male and female finishers, the largest team, and the top fundraising team. Additionally, the top three male and female finishers in eight different age categories, ranging from 14 and under to 70 and over, receive recognition. The 2026 edition also introduces a cash 50/50 and a basket raffle for those present at the venue.
The event serves as a benefit for Virtua's Perinatal Bereavement and Palliative Care Program. This program provides support services, financial assistance for funeral costs, and educational resources for families and healthcare practitioners. The race is held rain or shine, unless dangerous weather conditions such as lightning make the course unsafe for participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
