18th Annual Run with Lions
The Run with Lions event is a community running and walking race held in Cream Ridge, New Jersey. This event is organized by the Allentown Lions Club Foundation to support various local charitable causes, including the Allentown Food Pantry, Trenton Rescue Mission, and Trenton Area Soup Kitchen. Participants have the choice between two distances:
- 5 km Run/Walk
- 1 mile Fun Run
The courses begin and end at the Cream Ridge Winery, leading participants through the horse country of central New Jersey. The 5 km distance is open to those who wish to run, walk, or push a stroller. Each year, the event typically sees over 150 runners and walkers participate.
On-site activities include live music and a food drive, where participants are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items. Following the race, the Cream Ridge Winery offers five free wine tastings to participants who meet the legal age requirement. Refreshments and t-shirts are provided to participants, and awards are given to the top male and female finishers in the 5 km event, as well as to the top three finishers in 10-year age categories.
