Event overview
Run Wild for the Cape May County Zoo takes place on April 19, 2026 at Cape May County Park & Zoo, 707 Route 9 North, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210. The event includes road and park routes that pass through parts of the zoo and nearby bike path. Registration opens January 1, 2026. The 10K is a new distance for 2026 and requires runners to be able to maintain a 12:00 per mile pace.

Logistics and participant rules
All distances are stroller friendly. Children 5 and under do not need to register; participants ages 6-18 receive an automatic $10 discount. The free kids race requires pre-registration and signed waivers. This is a cupless event; on-course hydration is the responsibility of participants and water will be available at the finish area. There are restrooms near the start/finish and one restroom on course near the bear enclosure. Slow zones are posted near sensitive animal enclosures, including the bear and the kangaroos. Dogs are not allowed. Spectators may watch near the finish; non-participants are not allowed inside the zoo during the race.
Awards and charity
Shirts are guaranteed for registrations received by April 1. Medals are awarded to overall and age group winners in the 5K and 10K. Proceeds will be split between the Cape May County Zoological Society and another Cape May County charitable organization. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
