Key Information
This is an annual fundraiser for the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. It is noted as the only time of year guests are permitted to travel on foot up the historic road to the Shrine of the Sun. Participation requires advance registration, with no registrations available at the gate on the event day. Capacity for the event is limited.
Advance tickets are required for all run/walk participants over the age of 2. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Children aged 2 and under are free if they remain in a stroller on the course. Spectator tickets must also be purchased in advance and only provide access to the zoo during the event, not to the race course on Shrine Road.
The event takes place regardless of weather conditions. There are no refunds or transfers due to inclement weather. Refunds or exchanges for paid registrations and spectator tickets can be requested up to two weeks before the event date.
The event lists several partners, including Children's Hospital Colorado. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
