Run to the Rhythm 5K & Fun Run Benefiting the Wylie East Band
The Run to the Rhythm event is a community race hosted on the Wylie East High School campus in Wylie, Texas on August 1, 2026. It supports the Wylie East High School band programs, with funds directed toward equipment, travel, student scholarships, and program needs.
Distances offered:
- 5K race
- Fun Run
The 5K race is professionally timed on an accurately measured course and uses clear age-group divisions with medals awarded across eight age categories per gender. The event includes course support from volunteers and marshals, and additional recognitions such as fastest Wylie East band member, fastest Wylie East staff or teacher, and largest team.
The Fun Run is untimed and open to all ages; every finisher receives a participation sticker and children under 18 receive a finisher medal. The event features live music from the Wylie East Band positioned along the course, and on-site activities such as food trucks, face painting, and event sponsorship presence.
Live results are provided by a race timing service. The event is described as community-centered and family-friendly, bringing together runners, walkers, band families, alumni, and local residents for a morning of music and school spirit.
