Run to the Rhythm 5K & Fun Run
The Run to the Rhythm 5K & Fun Run takes place on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Wylie East High School in Wylie, TX. The event benefits the Wylie East High School band programs, with proceeds supporting equipment, travel, student scholarships, and program needs. The Wylie East Band will perform live along the course. Food trucks, face painting, and event sponsors are present on site.
The event offers two main options:
- 5K Race professionally timed, age group medals and awards
- Fun Run untimed, all ages welcome, children under 18 receive finisher medals
The 5K is run on a measured course with professional timing, clear age group divisions, and medal awards for both male and female divisions across eight age groups. Additional recognitions include fastest Wylie East band member, fastest Wylie East staff or teacher, and largest team awards. Volunteers and course marshals provide on-course support and safety.
The Fun Run is an untimed, family-oriented option suitable for children, families, strollers, and walkers. All Fun Run finishers receive participation stickers, and children under 18 receive finisher medals.
