Run to the Rhythm 5K & Fun Run Benefiting the Wylie East Band
The Run to the Rhythm 5K and Fun Run takes place on August 1, 2026 at Wylie East High School in Wylie, Texas. The event supports the Wylie East High School Band Programs and directs funds to equipment, travel, student scholarships, and other program needs.
The event is community centered and family oriented. The Wylie East Band will perform live along the course. The campus setting includes food trucks, face painting, and visible sponsorship. Organizers provide course support with volunteers and marshals, and live results are published by the race timing service.
The 5K is professionally timed on an accurately measured course. Runners compete in male and female divisions with medal awards across eight age groups, from under 10 through 60 plus. Additional recognitions include fastest Wylie East band member, fastest Wylie East staff or teacher, and largest team by group size.
The Fun Run is untimed and open to all ages, including strollers and walkers. Every Fun Run participant receives a participation sticker, and all children under 18 receive a Fun Run finisher medal.
