Run to Remember - Urbana

Run to Remember is an annual community run held at Crystal Lake Park in Urbana. The event in 2026 offers two distances:

• 5-mile route starting and ending in Crystal Lake Park
• 5K Run/Walk consisting of two loops of the park

The 5-mile course leaves the park and follows local streets including Church Street, N. Orchard Avenue, N. Coler Avenue, N. Country Club Road, and Broadway Avenue before returning to the park for a final loop and finish near the Boat House. Free parking is available at the Fairgrounds off N. Coler Avenue, a short walk to the start staging area.

Entrants receive a Bella + Canvas short-sleeve unisex jersey tee in adult and youth sizes, a finisher medal, and post-race food and drink. All in-person entrants receive free race photos. A special 5 x 7 back bib reading "Today, I Remember..." is provided so participants, volunteers, and staff can write names or events they are remembering.

The event uses lettered wave starts (A through F) based on each entrant’s estimated finish time; the race bib shows the assigned letter and includes a timing device on the back. Strollers are permitted only in the 5K and must be in the designated walker corral F while walking. Hydration stations serve water and lemon-lime Nuun Endurance on course, with bottled water and Nuun available after the race.

Packet pickup is available at Body n’ Sole Sports in Savoy and on race morning at the large pavilion in Crystal Lake Park. Proceeds benefit United Way of Champaign County and the Community Foundation of East Central Illinois. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
