Run to Remember - Urbana

Run to Remember is a community event held at Crystal Lake Park in Urbana on October 17, 2026. The event honors memories of those who are missed and celebrates those who are present while supporting local charitable organizations.

The event offers these distances:

• 5 miles : starts and ends in Crystal Lake Park, includes an opening loop through the park, then follows Church St., N. Orchard St., N. Coler Ave., N. Country Club Rd., and Broadway Ave., before reentering the park to finish near the Boat House.
• 5K Run/Walk : starts at the same location and completes two loops of the park, finishing near the Boat House.

Registration is available for both in-person and virtual participation. Early and later entry fees differ by event; in-person or virtual 5-mile registration was listed at $45 early and $50 later, and the 5K at $35 early and $40 later. In-person entrants receive free race photos.

Packet pickup is available at Body n’ Sole Sports in Savoy and on race morning at the large pavilion at Crystal Lake Park. Each entrant receives a front race bib with name and number and a 5 x 7 back bib labeled Today, I Remember for writing names or events being remembered.

The event uses a lettered wave start based on estimated finish times printed on bibs. Strollers are permitted in the 5K only and must start in the walker corral. Hydration is provided by one station inside the park and one outside, with water and lemon-lime Nuun Endurance. Awards are given for overall top three male and female finishers in each in-person race and for three-deep age-group placements.
