Run To Remember 5K
The Run To Remember 5K is a fundraising event held at the Kentucky State Police Training Academy in Frankfort, Kentucky. The race takes place in the evening under the stars and serves as a tribute to fallen units of the Kentucky State Police. Proceeds from the event benefit the Kentucky State Police Foundation, which funds specialized equipment, employee wellness initiatives, training, and recruitment efforts.
Participants can choose from the following event options:
- 5K Run/Walk: A 3.1 mile chip-timed course on the grounds of the training academy.
- Virtual 5K: A remote option allowing participants to complete the distance at any location.
The in-person race utilizes chip timing provided by Commonwealth Race Timing. All participants who complete the course receive a finisher's medal. Special awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers. Additionally, awards are designated for the top male and female finishers in several age categories, ranging from under 13 to over 60.
Registration includes a race t-shirt for those who sign up before the specified August deadline. For those participating in the virtual event, the registration fee covers the cost of shipping the shirt, race bib, and medal to their location. Packet pickup is available on the site of the training academy prior to the start of the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
