Run to Remember - Cary, NC
Run to Remember is organized by Fit & Able on Memorial Day weekend to support the local Veterans of Foreign Wars. The event takes place on May 23, 2026 at the Northwest Cary YMCA and uses the Cary greenway trails.
Distances offered include:
- 6 Miles
- 4 Miles
- 2 Miles
The event offers both in-person and virtual race options for the 2 Mile, 4 Mile, and 6 Mile distances. There is also a "Kids in Strollers" category where parents registered in the 2 Mile, 4 Mile, or Fun Mile races may push small children in a stroller. All participants must be registered and numbered to enter the course, and children must be registered under their own name and birthdate. An exhibitor option reserves vendor booth space and does not include race registration.
Registration opened January 1, 2025. Registration deadlines vary by event: in-person 2/4/6 Mile entries closed February 27, 2026; virtual and Kids in Strollers entries closed May 22, 2026; exhibitor registration closed May 21, 2026. Entry fees are listed per event.
All 2 Mile, 4 Mile, and 6 Mile participants receive a finishers medal and a gift, guaranteed for registrations made by May 10. The event includes over $4,000 in potential awards across overall, age group, specialty awards, and new course record prizes. A new course record also carries a $10 gift code reward.
