Run to Defeat ALS
The Run to Defeat ALS is a community event held on Memorial Day in Strasburg, Ohio. The event takes place at Strasburg Franklin Park and serves as a fundraiser to support the fight against Lou Gehrig's Disease. All proceeds from the event are donated to ALS United Ohio to assist in managing the symptoms of this progressive disease.
Participants can choose from the following event distance:
- 5k run or walk
Participants can pick up their race packets early at Cross Caffe on the Saturday preceding the event or at the park on the morning of the race. Following the completion of the 5k, an awards ceremony is held at the park before the local Memorial Day Parade begins.
Awards are presented to the top overall male and female finishers. Additionally, the event recognizes the top male and female participants across several age categories, ranging from 14 and under to 70 and over.
Registration includes an event T-shirt in adult sizes ranging from Small to X-Large. A discount is available for those who choose the no-shirt registration option. Availability for shirts becomes limited for those registering after May 10. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
