Chilterns Summer 10km
The Chilterns Summer 10km is a guided trail running event located in the Chiltern Hills. Participants follow a 10 km (approximately 6 miles) route through the countryside. The event is led by experienced Run Leaders who guide participants along the trails, providing instruction on trail running techniques and sharing information about the local history of the area.
This event is organized as a guided run rather than a competitive race. Participants are grouped according to their running ability to ensure a consistent pace for all members of the group. The route includes trails with some hills, and the group typically walks during steeper sections. It is recommended that participants are able to run 5km non-stop on flat terrain before joining.
The event starts and finishes at Church Farm Cafe in Aldbury. The location is accessible by rail, situated a 15-minute walk from Tring Station, which has regular 40-minute train connections from London Euston. On-site facilities include:
- Free parking
- Toilets
- Bag storage at the cafe
- Cafe services for post-run refreshments
The run is dog-friendly for those using appropriate cani-cross equipment, specifically a harness. Mandatory kit requirements apply to all runners. Registration takes place on the morning of the event, and the activity typically concludes by mid-morning. The entry fee includes the services of a Run Leader and trail running instruction.
