Run the Vineyards - Jonathan Edwards 5K
This event takes place at Jonathan Edwards Winery in North Stonington, Connecticut. It is the third annual edition of the race.
The event features a chip-timed 5K race. The course is described as mostly paved, with one mile routed through the vineyard grounds, finishing among the vines.
Awards are presented to the top three overall finishers and to age group winners for male and female participants. Age categories start at 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, and then continue in ten-year increments.
Registration includes a custom technical shirt, available in women's, men's/unisex, and youth sizes. All finishers receive a stemless wine glass. Participants aged 21 and over also receive one complimentary glass of wine. A souvenir finisher medal is available for an additional fee.
After the race, there is live music, a food truck, and beer from local breweries available for purchase. Water and bananas are provided at the finish line, and there is a water station on the course. Free downloadable race photos are offered.
The event welcomes walkers and children, with a one-hour time limit requested for the course. Packet pickup occurs on race day. The event proceeds regardless of weather, and the policy states no refunds or deferrals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
