Run the Runway - Midland

Run the Runway is a community running event at Midland Airpark presented by ConocoPhillips on August 29, 2026. The event takes place on the airport runway and offers a timed 5K and a family-friendly 1 Mile course on tarmac.

Participants receive an event T-shirt, a finisher medal, post-race refreshments, and access to the Fly Into Fall aviation activities that follow the running events. Fly Into Fall includes aircraft displays, pilots and aviation professionals, flight simulators and drone experiences, airport fire truck demonstrations, classic cars, kids activities, and food trucks.

The event operates within active airport safety and operational requirements. All participants must complete a waiver. Water is available at the start and finish, the 5K has one aid station, and shuttle support is available if needed. Race activities must conclude promptly to comply with airport operations.

Packet pickup is available at a local running store prior to race day and on race morning at Midland Airpark. Strollers and dogs are permitted; leash laws apply and stroller or dog participants are asked to start toward the back for safety. All entry fees are non-refundable. The event is scheduled to proceed rain or shine; if canceled or adjusted for safety or operational reasons, participant packets will be made available for pickup.
