Run the Runway - Midland

Run the Runway is a running event held at Midland Airpark in Midland, Texas on August 29, 2026. The course uses the airport runway and the newly renovated tarmac at Midland Airpark. The program includes a timed runway 5K and a separate 1 Mile Fun Run, with a family pass option that covers both distances for four people.

• 5K chipped timed event with age division scoring

Race entries include an event T-shirt, a finisher medal, and post-race refreshments. Water is available at the start and finish, and there is one aid station on the 5K course. Packet pickup is available the day before at The Athletic Company and limited pickup is available race morning at Midland Airpark.

The event coincides with Fly Into Fall, a free public aviation event that features aircraft displays, flight simulators and drone activities, airport fire truck demonstrations, classic cars, kids activities and food trucks. The race takes place within an active airport environment; aviation operations take priority and the schedule or course may be adjusted for safety or operational needs. All participants must complete a waiver. Entry fees are non-refundable and the event proceeds rain or shine; if the event is canceled for weather or airport operational reasons, participant packets will be made available for pickup.

Strollers and dogs are allowed with leash laws observed; participants using strollers should start toward the back. Parking is via a single access road so attendees should plan to arrive early. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
