Run the Runway - Midland
Run the Runway is the fifth annual community race at Midland Airpark in Midland, Texas on August 29, 2026. The event features running on the airport runway and offers a timed, chipped 5K with age division scoring and a 1 Mile family-friendly fun run. The event is presented by ConocoPhillips and is set at 901 Veterans Airpark Lane, Midland, TX 79705.
Race registration options and fees include a 1 Mile fun run for $30, a chipped and timed 5K for $40, and a family pass for four or more covering both distances for $95. Packet pickup is available the day before at The Athletic Company and on race morning at Midland Airpark.
An onsite aviation event follows the races and is open to the public. Fly Into Fall includes aircraft displays, pilots and industry representatives, flight simulators and drone experiences, airport fire truck demonstrations, classic cars, kids activities such as jumpers and face painting, and food trucks and coffee.
Course support includes water at the start and finish, one aid station on the 5K course, and shuttle support if needed. Strollers and dogs are allowed; participants using strollers or running with dogs should start toward the back and comply with leash laws. All entry fees are nonrefundable and the event is scheduled to take place rain or shine. If operations require cancellation or adjustment, participant packets will be made available for pickup.
