Run The Runway 5K : Danville
Run The Runway 5K is an annual 5K run and walk held at Danville-Boyle County Airport in Danville, Kentucky. The course uses the airport runways at Stuart Powell Field and includes static aircraft displays along the route that highlight Kentucky aviation.
The event offers both an in-person 5K and a virtual 5K option. Distances available:
- 3.1 miles, in-person 5K run/walk
- 3.1 miles, virtual 5K run/walk
Registration uses tiered pricing. Early bird registration is listed at $20 and ends March 20. Regular, last call, and day of registration fees increase in stages up to $35, and the virtual option is listed at $30. A participant gift is not guaranteed after May 30.
Proceeds support programs that introduce aviation to students across Kentucky, including discovery flights, training scholarships, mobile aviation camps, and STEM support. The event lists awards for overall fastest times and for the top three finishers by age group, male and female, in the following categories: 12 and under; 13 to 17; 18 to 24; 25 to 34; 35 to 44; 45 to 54; 55 to 64; 65 and above.
