Run the Runway 5K - Johnstown
Run the Runway takes place on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the airfield located at 220 Fox Run Road in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. The event is presented in partnership with the Pennsylvania Air National Guard and offers a behind-the-scenes look at airport operations.
The event includes both a timed 5K run and an untimed 2 mile walk, each conducted on the airfield. The course provides access to areas not typically open to the public and features static display aircraft positioned along the route, giving participants an up-close view of aviation assets in a controlled environment.
Online registration opened in mid-May and was listed at a fee of $25 per participant. Paper registration is available on the day of the event. The organizer notes that participants who register after June 30 are not guaranteed an event T-shirt. All proceeds from the event support Aerium, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on regional economic collaboration.
