Event
The Run the Rockies Trail is a trail running event in Frisco, Colorado, held on Saturday, August 8, 2026. The races take place around the Frisco Peninsula with views of Dillon Reservoir and the Ten Mile Range. Races start and finish at the Frisco Nordic Center. Distances offered:
- 5k: Adult with gift $40; without gift $25; youth with gift $30; without gift $15.
- 10k: Adult with gift $60; without gift $45; youth with gift $50; without gift $35.
- Half marathon: Adult w/ gift $80; without gift $65; youth w/ gift $70; without $55.
A commemorative gift is included for all racers. A hat is only guaranteed to racers who register before July 1, 2026.
Race details
Courses use single track and dirt road trails and will run counter clockwise on the Perimeter Trail in 2026. All courses include a finish along the Dillon Reservoir lakeshore. The course will be marked with flagging and directional arrows, and marshals will be at key junctions and aid stations. Races will be chip-timed by a professional timing service.
Aid stations:
- 10k: two aid stations at approximately miles 1.4 and 3.9.
- Half marathon: three aid stations at approximately miles 3.1, 8.3, and 10.9.
- 5k: no aid stations.
Aid stations provide water, Skratch hydration mix, fruit, M&M’s, pretzels, gummy bears in single-use cups, and hand sanitizer. Racers are encouraged to carry personal hydration. Trails are on public Town of Frisco/US Forest Service land; strollers and pets are not allowed. Awards are offered for overall top three male and female finishers and first place in multiple age categories. A post-race gathering with food, music, and beer for those 21+ will follow.
