Run the Rockies Trail 5k, 10k, & Half Marathon
Run the Rockies Trail offers three distances on the Frisco Peninsula trails with views of Dillon Reservoir and the Ten Mile Range. The courses combine single track and dirt road sections and start and finish at the Frisco Nordic Center. All courses finish along the lakeshore of Dillon Reservoir.

Registration for the 2026 races is open and pre-registration is strongly encouraged because the event may sell out; registration closes at 12:00pm on Thursday, August 6, 2026. A registration gift is guaranteed for participants who register before July 1, 2026. Fees include a well marked course, stocked aid stations, professional timing, post race food, and post race beer for participants 21 and older. Packet pickup is available the evening before and the morning of the race at Slopeside Hall; participants must complete an online waiver to receive a bib.
The 10K and half marathon are chip-timed and have a course cut-off at 10:30am. Aid stations: the 10K has two stations, the half marathon has three stations, and the 5K has no aid stations. Walkers are encouraged to register for the 5K; walkers may enter the 10K but should note the cut-off time. The race takes place on Town of Frisco and US Forest Service trails; strollers and pets are not permitted. Prizes are awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers and to first place finishers in multiple age categories. Post race food, music, and a plaza gathering at Slopeside Hall follow the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
