Run The Rock takes place November 7 - 8, 2026 in Terrebonne, Oregon at Smith Rock State Park and the Crooked River National Grasslands near Bend. The event offers two trail race distances:
- 50K
- Half Marathon
Courses
The 50K is a loop-style trail course that uses almost all trails in the park, including Misery Ridge and the area below the Monkey Face rock formation. The course loops around Gray Butte and includes views of Cascade peaks from Mt Hood to Mt Bachelor. Total elevation gain is 5500 ft and total loss is 5500 ft. About 85% of the 50K is single-track trails and 15% is double-track trails and dirt roads. There are four fully stocked aid stations.
The half marathon is a loop-style trail course with roughly 2,500 ft of climbing over 13.1 miles. About 90% of the half marathon is on single-track trails. There is one full aid station on the half marathon course.
Registration and policies
Registration opens April 1, 2026. There are no transfers to other runners. Cancellations more than 30 days before the race are eligible for a 50% credit toward the same event the following year. Cancellations 30 days or less from race day receive no credit, refund, or transfer. If the organizer cancels and the event cannot be rescheduled, refunds or credits will not be given. Veterans and active military are offered a 25% discount with proof of military ID required prior to registration; discounts cannot be refunded after registration.
